Another Tucson luminary is Don Reeve, whose "Spirit Wild" has just been released. What Karl Moeller does with keyboards, Don Reeve does with the guitar. Relying less on agile orchestrations, Reeve's pieces resonate instead with a joyousness and deliciously bizarre inventiveness on the guitar you've never heard before - or at least I've never heard before. There are also two ensemble pieces on this disc which also rely on violins, viola and tablas.
